Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto-Ryu Shinbukan

Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto-Ryu is one of the oldest and most revered classical martial arts of Japan (koryū bujutsu), with a lineage dating back to the 15th century. Preserved and taught at the Shinbukan Dojo, this tradition is recognized as an intangible cultural asset of Chiba Prefecture.

Katori Shinto-Ryu encompasses a comprehensive system of battlefield techniques, including kenjutsu (swordsmanship), bōjutsu (staff techniques), naginatajutsu (glaive techniques), iaijutsu (sword drawing), and strategic and spiritual teachings passed down through centuries.

Training emphasizes precision, discipline, and the preservation of classical forms, offering practitioners a direct connection to Japan’s warrior heritage.
