International Matayoshi Kobudo Association

The International Matayoshi Kobudo Association (IMKA) is dedicated to preserving and promoting the traditional weapons arts of Okinawan Kobudo, as passed down through the Matayoshi family lineage. Rooted in centuries-old Okinawan martial culture, Matayoshi Kobudo includes training with classical weapons.

Established to continue the legacy of Shinpo Matayoshi and his father Shinko Matayoshi, the IMKA emphasizes precise technique, traditional etiquette, and the deep connection with weapons practice. The system reflects influences from both Okinawan and Chinese martial traditions, offering a comprehensive curriculum for serious martial artists.
